How to get curly hair straight DIY

Vanessa Hudgens

How to get your curly, uncontrollable, frizzy hair Shiny and straight! Without spending salon prices.. if you have tried everything, trust me, my hair is course, and extremely frizzy and it works for me!
Difficulty: Moderate

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Any kind of straightener
  • Con air, Chi, etc..
  1. Wash hair throughly, make sure you get it ALL out. Most people make the mistake of  forgetting that last bit of conditioner because they are in a hurry. Make sure it is all out.

  2. I find it easier for myself to towel dry my hair. If you have very long or thick hair you might want to let it dry over night. Using a blow dryer just adds to the frizziness and makes it harder to work with.

  3. After you have washed and towel dried your hair. Plug in your straightener. Put your hair in a pony tail and pull out small sections at a time starting with the bottom back. For really coarse hair, it may take several strokes of the straightener to become flat and straight. If this applies to you, try smaller sections at a time.

  4. once you are finally done straightening and it is to your liking - You are ready to go! Be sure you unplug your straighter and allow it to cool off before storing it. If you find that your hair is "big" .. frizzy or static.. Do NOT put water on your hair or it will become curly again. For better results and prevention of split ends, You can add a heat protect before you straighten to dry with your hair, but in some cases this could cause your scalp to get oily. Also, another prevention is to not wash your hair every single day. If you have naturally curly hair, it is very hard to lock in the moisture it needs. Typical hair washing should be 2-3 days.
