A few weeks before saying yes to Wills while on vacation Kenya, Kate went to a wedding wearing a, ahem, royal blue dress.

Kate kept it classic and simple—wearing black and white from head to toe-when she attended a wedding with Wills, then her boyfriend of four years.

Kate gave a nod to the French with her chocolate beret, knee-high stiletto boots and flowy skirt. It’s no surprise she used to be an assistant accessories buyer for a British fashion chain Jigsaw.

In a nude lace dress and peep-toe heels, the world got their first glance of Sexy Kate.

And just a few days later Kate stepped out in Uggs, jeans, and a tee, proving that she’s just as good at dressing down as dressing up.

Kate watched from the sidelines in a flowy aquamarine dress, accessorized with a thin belt and big paparrazzi-stopping sunglasses.

At the official announcement of the couple’s engagement, it seems Kate planned her outfit around one very special accessory. Her form-fitting dress matched the color of the 18-carat sapphire ring the prince gave her, the same one his father presented to Diana 30 years ago.
