How To Follow Proper Spa Etiquette

After a week’s hard work, heading to the day spa to relax and de-stress yourself seems to be a lucrative option. The therapists of the spa, along with the staff there, will help you feel renewed and free from aches and pains. However, remember to act wisely and follow spa etiquette so that the others who have gone there to get spa treatments don’t feel disturbed.

So, what are these spa etiquette? The following points may help you to decide:

1. Reach the spa at least 20 minutes before your scheduled time of appointment so that you can change your dress and relax. Going earlier may also allow you to use the sauna or steam bath.

2. You are at the spa to relax. So, don’t stress yourself by discussing your problems.

3. If you are going to the spa after an intensive work out, freshen up. Don’t go wearing a dress that’s soaked with sweat. This will help the therapist to work.

4. As exposure to chlorine for a long time is not good for the skin, wash off the chlorine after your Jacuzzi session is over.

5. Switch off your cell phone inside the spa so that you can stay away from stress and the other customers are not disturbed.

6. If you want to get the most of your spa session, show courtesy and respect to the staffs and therapists of the spa.

7. To get healed completely will take time. So, don’t criticize if your aches and pains still remain after the first session. Rather, arrange for your next appointment and be there without fail.

8. Don’t hurry after your session ends. Relax so that you get the full benefit. If you don’t rest, the healing process will be slow.

9. Show your kindness by giving your therapist a tip.

10. After your spa massage, relax, drink enough water and eat a light meal.

So, enjoy your session at the spa and also give the others a chance to have a relaxing and rejuvenating session there.

A Full Body Homemade Spa Treatment

You don’t necessarily have to run to an expensive spa every time you want to pamper your body and your soul. There are lovely home-made packs that you can use to beat the summer heat, and all these can be easily prepared at home with some easily available ingredients.

While at the spa a full body treatment in which packs are applied to your face, to your hair and to the rest of your body will nearly cost three to five hundred dollars, doing the same at home will cost you no more than $20. Here is how you need to go about it.

The face pack

You’ll need one cucumber, a cup of oatmeal and two spoons of yogurt to prepare this face pack. Grate the cucumber and make a fine paste of oatmeal using some water. Mix in both these ingredients along with the yogurt and leave this face mask on your skin for about twenty minutes before you rinse it off.

This face pack has a real cool and pleasing effect on your skin. The cucumber acts as an anti-astringent, the oatmeal provides the necessary moisture and yogurt which contains a lot of lactic acid does the anti aging job. If your skin is sun burnt then you can also add some almond paste to this recipe, as it helps in lightening the skin tone.

A pack for your hair

Henna natural hair care product that has a deep conditioning effect on your hair. To make this pack, make some henna paste using henna powder and water, and when you have beaten it to a smooth consistency, mix in one egg white and 2tbsp. of olive oil into it. Spread it all over your hair, and keep it on for 30 minutes before rinsing it off with lukewarm water.

Apart from its conditioning properties, henna also has some astringent properties which help in cleaning off the oil buildup on the scalp. For best results, buy henna powder which is completely natural and does not contain any chemical additives.

A full body scrub

For this all you need is the pulp of a medium size papaya, about 2tbsp. of coffee powder and about half a cup of whole wheat flour. Mix together all the things along with some water and rub it gently on your skin. Because of its exfoliating properties, which help in removing the dead skin, this recipe is quite helpful in removing sun tan as well. The coffee powder does the job of detoxing the skin.

How you can create a Bath Spa at home

We all say or rather taught to say that there is actually nothing in looks but we gals know that there is everything. We fall in love at first sight, we feel attracted by the looks of hot men. But do you know along with looks there is also another factor that draws women to men? That is perfume.

Scientists have proved that our body has pheromones and though it is basically non perceivable it increases attraction among males and females. It is not that hyper active like the animals but stil this naturally producing body scent acts rapidly through the special cells located in the nasal cavity and stimulates us.

However another thing that also helps in the attraction is the perfume. Most women prefer well groomed well perfumed males and if your boyfriend still goes about boasting machismo and the body odor then time to gift him a perfume or deo spray. Even he is quite well groomed then also do not forget to gift him a perfume or deodorant spray. It is the most common yet the most preferred gift items by males. There are numerous international and national brands available in the market for you to choose from.

Certain malls have exclusive outlets for these perfumes. Take for example Dolce and Gabbana the perfume made famous by Gisele, girlfriend of Leonardo Di Caprio and the secret to this attraction is no longer a secret. A light spray will be enough for you to realize the magic of perfumes. Apart from this there is Eliza De Wills and Lorenza, two of the world’s most respected perfume brands. If you do not want a burn a hole in the pocket then go for the Indian brands. There are many of them like Axe, Nivea, Adidas, Playboy etc. Go for them and indulge in pure sensuous pleasure.

Five best home spa treatments for your feet

Your feet need as much love and care like the rest of your body. You can pamper them in style without blowing up your monthly budget on a spa. Your kitchen has all the items you will require. All you need to do is create a spa-like ambience with muted lights, some music in the background, and scented candles to complete the picture.
1.Ayurvedic treatment :
For this foot care treatment, prepare a large tub of hot water with 2 tablespoons of sea salt, and a mixture of fresh herbs like lavender and thyme in 250 ml water. Soak your feet in this solution for 15 minutes to disinfect and rejuvenate them

You can follow this up with an invigorating foot rub. Mix half teaspoons each of cider vinegar, lavender oil, powdered alum and three tablespoons of sunflower oil in a glass bottle. Warm this over a pan of hot water. After cooling, pour it on a rough towel to scrub your feet and exfoliate the dead skin. Round off the process by massaging the toes, instep, arches, heel and ankles with almond or olive oil. The improved circulation will make your feet feel relaxed and rejuvenated.

2.Paraffin wrap :
Melt four bars of food grade paraffin wax in a bowl and mix along with 20 drops of lavender or chamomile oil and three ounces of any cooking oil. Pour this mix in a plastic tub and cool till a layer forms over the surface.

Wash your feet and apply olive oil over them. Check the temperature and dip each foot into the molten wax. Allow the wax to set before you dip in the other one. Repeat till you get a thick wax coat on both the feet. Wrap each foot in individual plastic bags and cover them with a blanket to keep them warm. After half an hour, peel the wax off your feet. Now massage your feet with olive oil to keep them soft, supple and smooth.

3.Vanilla milk treat :
Try this vanilla treat for dry feet, especially during winter. Boil two litres of whole milk till it thickens, and pour it into a large tub. Cool to a comfortable temperature and add three drops of vanilla extract. Soak your feet in the tub containing milk for 15 minutes. Now clean your feet with plain water and exfoliate the dead skin with a paste of coarse salt and cooking oil. Rinse them with warm water and dry with a clean towel. Round off this treatment with a circular massage using milk cream and fresh turmeric pulp.

4.The honey almond glow :
Mix and blend seven cups of hot water, two cups of full cream and a cupful of honey in a big bowl. Soak your feet in this solution for 15 minutes. Rinse in warm water. Rub a paste made of finely chopped almonds and some milk cream on your feet in a circular motion. Massage them with half teaspoon almond oil making sure to press on all the pressure points.

5.The Vitamin E massage :
Soak your feet for 15 minutes in a tub of hot water and a capful of baby shampoo. Scrub them with coarsely powdered sugar in a light circular motion and then wash with warm water. Mix half a tablespoon of either, almond or olive oil, with cocoa butter and four vitamin E capsules. Massage your feet using this moisturizer generously. Wear your socks and slide your feet into two plastic bags. Secure them with rubber bands. Now put your feet, covered with the bags, into a tub of warm water for ten minutes. The moisturizer will get absorbed by the time you remove them from the water. Wipe off the excess with a tissue.

After every treatment, push back the cuticles on the toes with an orange stick and clean the nail beds. You may want to complete the spa experience with an application of your choice of the latest nail varnish.
