I'm talking about belting in your outerwear. In this case it's a shearling-lined jacket meaning it's a little bulky... but if you imagine the coat without the belt, it's a much more everyday look. Adding a belt simply shows that you're up for a little accessorising; that you're willing to take it one (albeit small) step forwards. Remember a leather belt can also work perfectly over a knit cardigan, military-inspired jacket or a trench.
