Brown Skin is Beautiful

It’s surprising how different ‘fairness cream’ products make girls with dark complexion look helpless, neglected and unattractive in their advertisements. To be honest, it is unfortunate how most people in our country have the same idea about dark girls. Well the truth is that this ‘idea’ is absolutely absurd. Don’t they know who Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Beyonce and Rihanna are? Here’s a myth-buster against the so-called “fashion-don’ts for dark girls”.
1) “Dark girls shouldn’t wear bright colours”: This one is most probably the most popular misconception. Any colour, whether bright or dark will look good on dark skin if worn and accessorised properly. Take the bright yellow jacket on ‘Umbrella’- star Rihanna for instance. Try red, purple, orange or light blue clothes and balance them out with a dim or soft toned scarf or handbag.
2) “Dark girls shouldn’t wear too much makeup”: Girls, always remember to check the colour of your foundation, concealers and eye shadows on the top of your hand before you buy them. This will help to determine whether the colour suites your skin or not. I would advice not to use silver or baby pink shadows, and to avoid coloured metallic eye shadows.
Radiant and healthy skin always looks gorgeous no matter what the complexion. It is very important to take good care of your skin and especially dark, oily skin. Oily skin is more prone to pimples which might result in marks and spots. Spots ruin the natural radiant beauty of dark skin. Cleanse a number of times during the day and never go to bed with makeup.
Ignore all those meaningless advertisement and remarks from brainless people. Be yourself, be proud of who you are, don’t ever let anyone tell you that you are not beautiful.
